Says Sam, “The concept for UsTrendy actually came from witnessing the struggles friends of mine were having in the fashion industry. I saw how talented they were… I wanted to level the playing the field and create a platform that was just for designers and built solely to help them advance their clothing lines through sales, promotion, and funding. There was nothing really out there that focused solely on helping fashion designers in a real practical way.”
The contests, which can include cash prizes, have included anywhere from one to six-thousand designers and hundreds of thousands of voters, making it very easy to gain exposure.
If you’re feeling worried about the quality of your garments, there’s no need. UsTrendy keeps designers involved in production after the contest is over, making as many garments as one’s material choices and budget allow. “We are here for designers. This is more than just a funding or promotion process. It is an educational process where we want to educate the designers on the process from a sketch to a prototype to a line. So depending on where a designer is in their career we provide them with the proper tools and education to progress.”
